Justrite Get creative with Fonts Challange

Well I am up to another challenge. This time it is a Font Challenge by Justrite stampers.I am still in the Valentine mood so this is a Valentine bag topper.
- I die cut the bag topper ( Accucut) from glossy white paper.
- I selected some pink inks mostly Brilliance and one Pallete ink.
- I used my fonts to spell out the word love some vertical and some horizontal I then stamped them randomly on my bag topper leaving spaces to add some die cut hearts I cut used my spellbinders dies.
- Last by not least I added some bling with some flower rhinstones.
From a scale from 1-10 I would say this was a 3 for skill. the main thing was to be sure you did not get any ink on the edges of your stamps and the other was to stamp straight. It took relitivly a small amount of time and it would be a great way to do several projects as you would have everything all set to go with the next ones.
I hope you enjoyed my take on this challenge and that it inspires you to do some of your own projects.

I have Valentines on the brain

I have gotten into the Valentine spirit. I guess it it the snow out side and me packing away my Christmas decorations that has me thinking fresh bright cheery Valentine projects. I usually hang hearts on an white Easter tree we have and put out a few red and pink decorations to cheer things up in the house. I looks so empty when I take down all of my Christmas decorations. So these add a few touches of whimsy in the house.
I have two cards and a fancy treat box to share with you. I uses a combination of old stamps I had from several different sets to put the frog card together. You will notice it has an inside view. I decided to do the Start to Finish challenge over at Moxie Fab. It was a great challenge to get me to make the inside of my cards look as fun as the outside. I will be doing more of that it really dose add a lot to the over all card.
The one with 4 circles is also an eclectic bunch of stamps brought back from the dark cupboard I have kept them in for several years now. I love to try to use the things I have even thought it is fun to buy the new temptations that are out there. ( I still do that don't get me wrong.) The box is me playing with some scraps I had and my favorite toys my spellbinders die's.
I hope these inspire you and get you thinking Valentines Day!

BoBunny sketch challange

I said I was going to try some more challenges this year and this is my first scrapbook page challenge.I love BoBunny's blog. Rita is one of my favorite designers and she did this sketch challenge. This is my take on it. I decided to scrapbook my daughters wallet sized Senior pictures and put them in a book of their own. The size of this book is 6"x6" I die cut it with an accucut die. I plan to use challenges to design the pages to take me out of my box so this it the first one and I am liking it.You can check out more pages on the Bo Bunny sight http://bobunny.blogspot.com/2010/01/join-us-in-layout-sketch.html.
Thanks for stopping.

A new Moxi Fab color challange

I have vowed to try more challenges this year and this was a tough one for me. I played around for quite some time before I came up with this card.
I die cut the purse card from Bo Bunny Halloween paper! ( Yes Halloween paper) using an Accucut Purse card die.
I edged it with Violette Palette Ink to give it some depth.
I die cut and embossed the daisies ( spellbinders ) from Core'denations sugar and spice paper. I sanded it to bring out the under color.
I had been given a box of old buttons and lace and I remembered the purple velvet buttons that were in there and thought that was just the touch this card needed.
It ended up being a fun project and will be a great card to give. It might even end up as a Mothers Day card. ( My mom won't know she dose not have a computer, so don't tell her!)
Well I am off to finish taking pictures of some more cards I have been working on. I had a day just to play and play I did!
Have a good week.

Flowers for My sweetie

I did this card for a sketch challenge over at Stamp TV. I had colored this the other night and wanted to do something with it. I started playing around and decided to make it into a Valentine Card after I found the pink I wanted to pull out the pink in the flower. I used a piece of softly printed ivory paper for the back stripe that goes under the oval I punched it with a Fiskars punch and then edged it with a sponge and some Distress ink to pull out the color of the oval. I die cut the small hearts and stamped love on them to cover up the saying that was hanging on the Jar.
Lastly I edged the card with distress ink to pull the whole card together.
I plan on giving this to my husband for Valentines Day.
I hope you get inspired to play today!
Donna
I needed to do something under the oval and I did not want to put a saying so I did a small collage of silk flowers, brads and some heart charms on a oval nestibility the same paper as the oval mat.

Just us Girls playing along ...

This is the year I said I would try some more challenges and so here I go. My first Just us Girls Challenge.
This is my take on the sketch. I do not usually use these bright basic colors but I had stamped these cute puppies in a truck from a friends stamp set and had them all colored for months now so as I was cleaning I decided They needed to be made into cards instead of being put back in the to do pile.I used a big grommet and black paper to give me that tire look I wanted on the side. I colored the truck and puppies with copic markers.
I hope to join this challenge again in the future.

Melanie Muenchiner celibrates 2 years with a Challange

Melanie Muenchinger is celebrating 2 years with her blog. She has challenged us to do a card with one of her stamp sets she has designed for Gena K Designs.
This is my card I am entering to help her celebrate.
I inked up the cuttlebug embossing folder with a light tan ink and ran it thought and embossed it. ( This is a challenge Gena K is having on Stamp TV. She has a tutorial there on how to do it.) I stamped the saying (SU) and then die cut it with a spellbinder die. Before I took it out of the die I used a copic marker and an air can to soften the edges around it.
I stamped the flowers with a reddish momento ink and a green momento ink for the leaves. I then colored them with copic markers. They were then cut out and added to the card with pop dots do add some dimension. The rustic look of the back ground really is a nice background for the Brighter orange flowers. I hope you like my take on Melanie's " A Year with flowers" stamp set.It is a favorite of mine.
Have a great day!
