Another Just Rite Challenge

Finished card
My scraps, I think I did pretty good using them up. What do you think?
The challenge over at Just Rite ( Get Scrappy) is to used the scraps on your work area. I have plenty of those and I tend to keep every piece especially the printed ones so this was a challenge I needed to take on. I had done a quilt card last year and thought this would be a fun way to use up these scraps also. I used my spellbinders Hexagon die's from Spellbinders.I cut several different pieces of my printed papers and played around with back grounds and came up with this pretty blue print. I arranged them to fit on a square piece of paper that was cut to fit on a Accucut card die I have that has a scallop on the bottom. Once I had them on the card I used a fine tip Prisma marker  in brown to add faux stitches around each one,( It went faster then you think) I edged the blue with Momento's Potter's clay ink. I stamped the saying ( Birthday centers) with this ink as well and then edged the die cut saying with a sponge and Potters clay ink. This was set on top of the die cut filigree which I had a pretty plaid ribbon in a yummy butterscotch color to pull the whole thing together. To finish it off I put a scrap of the rusty print paper under the scallop edge at the bottom of the card.
I really like how it turned out and better yet I got to use some of those small scraps I had piling up on my work area. This is a card that really has a warm hug kind of feel to it.
Have a great day.

Day 7 of the Halloween count down and blog candy

Today I have of fun and easy treat bag idea. I have taken small lunch type bags and ran then through my cuttle bug with a embossing folder. ( be sure to fold the bottom in on itself so the whole bag gets embossed.) I then rubbed ink over the embossing with a sponge to make the embossing stand out. The bags were found at my Jo Ann Fabrics store in the gift bag area. I then made some bag toppers using spellbinders dies that were a size that fit nicely over the bag when folded. I layered my stamped/colored and die cut pieces on the folded bag topper.
The stamp sets I used were from Raisin Boats All wound up I used spellbinders dies to cut the circles and scraps of paper I had to make a stripe under the circle. This is a fun way to make more of your stamp set by cutting one area of  the stamped image.I hope you try this fun and easy trick to making a treat bag.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you are a follower or sign up to be a follower so you can be put in the drawing for a free stamp set from the girls at Raisin Boat Stamps on October 30th.
Have fun stamping.

How about a fun Halloween card today. I love to color so this card was done with Prisma color pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I stamped the images from Raisin Boats Haunting Potions with black ink. I die cut the colored image with spellbinders dies as well as the mats. ( Play around with your dies and combined different shapes it can really be a fun to see what the layers can look like.) I edged the white with a sponge and black ink. I also used a spider web embossing folder on part of the card and rubbed gently with a sponge and black ink to make the spider web stand out. This was a fast and fun card to do. I tend to color 3 images at the same time to save time and have extras for more cards or Halloween treats.

I stramped the bag topper with the Retro Repeat back ground stamp by Raisin Boat. I then stamped the circles and saying from the Raisin Boat Halloween All Around stamp set. They were then cut out with spellbinders dies and layered on top of each other. Day 4 of my Halloween count down to blog candy

How about a fast easy and inexpensive Halloween luminary to add to your Halloween party decorations.I stamped this haunted house on a heavy velum paper with versa mark ink and then embossed it with black embossing powder. The stamp set is from Raisin Boat Do Not Enter I have a tip with this set that the girls give me over at Raisin Boat. Use a fine sand paper to lightly rub on the large surface area of the house it helps the ink to better surface to ink up well.I also used a sponge and some black ink to add some eerie clouds in the sky. Use a strong tape to hold the cylinder together. Then just add a battery operated tea light to add the eerie glow inside. This could be done in many different sizes with several of the stamps in this set.
Don't forget to leave a comment or sign up to follow my blog to have a chance to win a free Raisn Boat stamp set of your choice on Oct. 30 to celebrate my Birthday. Be sure to check back every day for some new Halloween Projects.

Fall is in the air at Just Rite take three

O.K. I just kept coloring and playing around with the fall barn stamp and some of my new spellbinders die's. I like the simplicity of this card and the way the wine red mat makes the barn the star of the show.

Fall is in the air at Just Rite take two

I fell in love with this rich orange paper by Basic Grey from Indie Bloom so I used it as my background for this vibrant Fall card.I stuck with a simple design for this card using oval spellbinders to die cut my harvest image and then a beautiful orange paper by Raisin Boat. I colored the stamped image with copic markers and edged it with Ranger distress ink and a sponge. I cut the leaves out and and added them to give a bit of dimension to the card highlighting the fall theme. It just makes you feel all the warmth of the fall colors.

Fall is in the air at Just Rite take one

I had fun with this challenge. I grew up on a farm and I love fall so this card was fun to do. I went with a creamy white barn instead of the traditional red. I used spellbinders dies to cut and mat the barn. The papers are from My minds eye ( Stella Rose, and a Beautiful Life) I wanted to really feature the barn stamped image on this card so I did a shorter card and had the die cut mat raise up and take center stage.I used copic markers to color this and edged it with Ranger distress ink and a sponge.
I hope you get a chance to enjoy some of Gods beauty this fall it is just amazing this year in Wisconsin!
