Glitter,glitter, glitter everywhere!

Glitter challenge over at Moxie Fab I had to jump in and play.
I played with a set from Raisin Boat stamps Playing Cupid I stamped the flower heart and flowers with pearl red embossing powder. When embossed I used a nifty glue pen by Quickie Glue a Sakura product. It has a roller tip just like a gel pen. I was able to get into the small petals of the flowers.I then sprinkled glitter all over the heart and flowers and taped off the extra. It worked like a charm!
I hope you like it and take some time to play today!

Happy snow day!

Well we had snow up north in Merrill WI and we had to pull out the snow blower at my Parents house on Thanksgiving. I must say it was Pretty, the snow on the ground and the tree's. It put you in the Christmas spirit.
I did this card for the Tuesday trigger http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/11/tuesday-trigger-its-snowing-gingerbread.html
This is my take on the gingerbread snowflake. I die cut the tag card with an accucut die from cream paper and the tag mat from kraft paper.I stamped the snowflakes with white versa color ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. These are a cut set from Raisin Boat stamps Let it snow set.http://raisinboat.com/view_Product.asp?productID=104
I then added a 1/4" grosgrain ribbon through the hole.It is a simple and fast card but I really like how it turned out.
I hope you find time to play today!

Another Just Rite Challenge this time it is a color challenge

This time Just Rite has a color challenge using navy/gold/and rust. I have the golden yellow in my bird and background,I added the rust in the mad of the bird and have you figured out the navy? It is the stitching around the card and circles and one brad in the center of the ivory flower. The navy was the big challenge for me.
I used spellbinders die's to cut things out and copic markers to color things in.
I hope you challenge your self this week and find time to play.

Blessing mix for fun fall giving

Justrite has a recipe challenge this week and I was planning on making this " Blessing mix" to give to my daughters small group leaders for youth group so what a better way then to combine the two.
I sized the saying to fit in my spellbinders leaf die.I die cut it and then edged it with some distress ink with a sponge.
I then stamped my Justrite "Enjoy the days of Autumn" stamp and colored it with copics and I cut it out and attached it to the other side of the leave with the saying on the other side. I die cut one small leaf in brown and added it at the bottom.
I put my Blessing mix in a long bag and tied the leaf onto the top of the bag. It is an inexpensive way to say thank you with a fun fall flair.
Blessing Mix
The bugles are the symbol of the Cornucopia, a horn of plenty.
The pretzels are the arms folded in thanks.
The candy corn reminds us of the corn the pilgrims had to eat the first winter.
The fruit ( candied orange slice) is a reminder of that Thanksgiving is a celebration
of the Harvest.
The peanuts represent the seeds, the potential of the bounteous harvest for the
next season if they are planted and well tended.
You can layer the ingredients in the bag or mix them all up in a bowl if you like.I used a candied orange slice but you could put in dried fruit like cranberry's if you like. For those of you who might be scratching your heads over Bugles they are in the snack isle by the pretzels and chips.
I hope you have fun making this and giving it.
Make time to play today.

A little red a pinch of black and how about some green?

I gotta love those challenges. I would never have put together a card with red, green and black.I have to say I am loving the out come.
For the bird in a tree card I stamped the leaves(I believe by my minds eye) with versamark and then embossed it with leaf embossing powder by ZING. I cut it into a square and then cut a red( bazzill) mat and a green mat (cordinations). I attached it to the black dot card from Die cuts with a view LaCre'me box of cards.
I added some berrys (Little candy dots by pebbles in red) I stamped the bird ( my minds eye) and embossed it in red ( ZING) cut it out and attached it to the tree with a pop dot.
I added my pleated rayon hem facing I had hand pleated and sewed to a piece of paper with black thread to pick up the black background with tacky tape and added one single candy dot by pebbles to pull in the green.
The other card was a mistake made good. I had stamped 3 tree's in a row and then messed them up. So instead of throwing them I cut one out and layered it with red and black papers under the tree. I used a scrap of the color core green paper I had left from my other card and matted that on the black dot paper I had. I added some snowflakes I had punches with my Martha Stewart snow flake border punch on the bottom and to finish it all off I added some small gold balls on the top of the tree and in the middle of the snowflakes.
I hope you like what I came up with and make some time to play today!

A sew fun Christmas card

I went crazy with Gena K's Christmas challenge with sewing on the card.I used a irregular stitching line to go around the mats and card itself.I did this twice to really make it stand out. I used the sketch from Repeat Impressions a new blog I checked out a friend of mine Karen had a card posted on. It looked like a fun sketch. I hope you like my take on my Christmas card with sewing on it. Maybe you will have to get out your sewing machine too.
Happy sewing!

A Christmas Challange card

I was inspired to do this card by a Gena K Christmas card challenge that you had to have a shaped card.So I used my nestabilities to make this tree card that fit into a slash folder.
1- I stamped the houses on a scrap of ivory paper and then colored it with copic markers.
2- I then die cut 2 tree's and the folder.I took the one tree I had cut and then used a oval nestability to cut a window in the card.
3- I put the houses behind the window and sewed them in place around the oval opening.I used a sponge to edge the tree.
4- I embossed snowflakes on the slash folder with white embossing powder.
5- I stamped the saying and die cut it and the mat with a rectangle nestability and then attached it to the front of the folder.

Flowers from my garden

I have been wanting to make some cards with my flower pictures for some time now. I took these last year! I had some of them done with a pearl finish when I ordered my daughters graduation pictures. I used my nestabilities to die cut them and the mats. I am liking how they turned out. It was a challenge on Just Rite Stampershttp://justritestampers.typepad.com/ that gave me the push I need to get creative with my pictures. The challenge is called Friday challenge 028 " A picture is worth a 1000 words".
I used wallet size photo's for my cards.I also challenged myself to use pattered paper too! I used Just Rite stamps of course for my sayings.
I hope you enjoy my cards I hope to do some more as long as I have my photo's out and piles of paper spread out.
Play a litlle each day!

Christmas in July?

I finally found some time 5:15 am to make a card for Gena K's Friday challenge. It is a Christmas card!
I used Rupa Shevde's Magic of Christmas tree's and colored them with Copic markers. I distressed them with distress ink and a stipple brush. I then Die cut the tag card ( Accucut) and then cut a window using a spellbinders die. I distressed the inside of the window.
I used Nina Brackett's Vintage borders with distress ink on the card also softening the edges of the card and window with it on a sponge.I sewed the tree's under the window and added buttons and a plaid ribbon. The Merry Christmas is a sticker I had.
I hope you enjoy it and maybe you will get out some Christmas stamps in July!

Water color crayon cards

I played around with my water color crayons on some of my Raisin Boat stamps and they worked great. I colored the stamp and then spritzed it with water and stamped it on water color paper.
I let it dry and then then stamped over it with the stamp that had been inked in a darker shade of ink to bring out the detail.I love how they turned out.
Thanks for stopping now go and pull out your water color crayons and play for awhile.

Easter Fun to share with you.

I made some new eggs this year for my egg tree. I used my nested eggs die set by spellbinder. I cut out some white eggs and then stamped them with flowers from Raisin boat a stamp rental company based right here in Waunakee WI . It is like net flicks you sign up for a monthy plan and then you get to use the stamps and return them when you are done and then pick some new ones to use. Pretty cool! You can check them out at http://raisinboat.com/
I sandwiched a ribbon between the 2 eggs and I added some small pearls for the center of the flowers.
Some of them I used stripes of border punches to look like lace.
This is a quick and fun project.
I hope it brings a smile and inspires you to decorate your own eggs.

Lovely Lavender Lemon Drops

Doesn't the title just roll off your tong? I am just loving this card. The colors just say spring, along with the crocus flower. I used some digital paper for this card from Gena K in Lemon Drop and the flowers and frame are also from Gena K designs.I don't think I could make a card with out using a spellbinder die any more. I just love them, the possibilities are endless.I had finished playing with the lay out and it just needed something so I pulled out my dot embossing folder and that was what it was missing.( Hopefully we will see some crocus in person real soon.)
I hope you got a little smile on your face when you read the title it is almost like a name of a fancy candy.
Have a nice day and take some time to play.

Floss on a card?

This is a card I did with my new spellbinders Mega Classic Ovals large and the scalloped set. I stamped my flowers ( Gena K Spring Floral's) with Grey memento ink I like the soft look it give verses using black.I colored them with copic markers and also air brushed them with copic to give a nice soft touch.
I pushed small holes around the oval and then sewed them with yellow floss adding a bow to hide the starting and ending spot. The paper is Lemon yellow and Cream de Mint from gena K and the green plaid is from October Afternoon Farm Fresh paper pack. This is my first try at useing Floss on a project. I can thank Moxie Fab World for that they have a challenge going on!
This is a card and gift box I did using floss. I had fun with this. I Stamped the bear;s ( Oh Baby GenaK) on GenaK's digital spring paper and cut them out.I layered them on another of the papers from the collection. I used a spellbinders die to make a solid mat for under the bear. I used brads to wrap the floss around and then tie in a bow at the bottom. This made a nice frame for the bear. I tied it all together ( pun intended) by adding a bow on the bears neck to match the floss frame.
The card and gift box were done the same way.
I hope you enjoyed stamping by and seeing were my latest challenge has taken me. This time it truly was outside the box!
Take care,
Donna
